SELLING AN RV IN DENVER

Explore a Direct Purchase for Your Denver RV

Selling an RV does not always begin with an advertisement. Some owners are ready to market a well-maintained motorhome privately. Others have a trailer in storage, an unused camper van or a fifth wheel that needs repairs before it could be moved.

RVBuyerUSA has been buying RVs since 2008 and considers direct purchase inquiries throughout the United States. Most inquiries come from private RV owners, although dealerships are welcome to submit vehicles for consideration.

You can start by describing the RV you have, rather than arranging a retail listing or moving it to another location. We consider its type, condition, ownership circumstances and current location to determine whether a purchase may be possible.

One Purchase Inquiry Instead of a Public Listing

A direct purchase inquiry allows you to explore a possible transaction with RVBuyerUSA. You do not need to advertise publicly or invite multiple prospective retail buyers to inspect the vehicle merely to request a review.

A private listing or consignment arrangement may still be appropriate for some sellers. You can compare those alternatives before deciding.

Your RV Is Considered Individually

Two RVs of the same year and model can differ considerably in mechanical condition, equipment, maintenance and accessibility.

Describe what is working, what needs attention and what has not been tested recently. Accurate information is more useful than an optimistic description that cannot be confirmed.

The Decision Remains Yours

Submitting a request does not transfer ownership or create a purchase agreement. If RVBuyerUSA makes an offer, you can review the proposed terms and decide whether to accept.

There is no fee to request an offer and no obligation to sell.

For more information, see Our RV Buying Process.

GET YOUR RV DETAILS TOGETHER

What Helps Us Evaluate an RV in Denver?

You do not need to know every technical specification before contacting RVBuyerUSA. The most helpful information identifies the vehicle, explains its known condition and establishes where it can be inspected or released if a purchase is agreed.

1. Year, Make, Model and RV Type

Start with the manufacturer, model, model year and whether you have a motorhome, camper van, travel trailer, fifth wheel, toy hauler or another RV. Approximate length, floor plan, slide-outs and major equipment can help when different configurations share a similar model name.

2. Driving or Towing Condition

For a motorhome, include the odometer reading, whether the engine starts, when the RV was last driven and any known problems involving steering, brakes, tires or drivetrain components. For a towable RV, describe the tires, axles, trailer brakes, hitch or kingpin, and landing gear. A trailer that looks ready for use inside may still need attention before it can be transported.

3. Roof and Interior Systems

Mention roof leaks, soft flooring, damaged walls, windows, slide-outs, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems. If something has not been tested, identify it as untested. Do not operate an unsafe or disconnected system simply to complete an inquiry.

4. Damage and Repair History

Describe known exterior damage, water intrusion, hail damage, structural concerns, missing equipment or previous repairs. Separate problems that have been confirmed from those you only suspect. Repair records and photographs may be helpful during follow-up.

5. Title and Loan Status

Check whether the RV is titled in your name, whether other owners appear on the title and whether an outstanding lender interest exists. If the title is missing, branded or held by a lender, disclose that early. Documentation requirements can be discussed before any agreed transaction.

6. Actual RV Location

Provide the ZIP code where the RV is physically parked. If you live in Denver but keep the RV in Aurora, Lakewood or another community, use the storage location rather than your home address. Mention a driveway, fenced yard, storage facility, RV park or repair shop, along with any access restrictions.

Photographs may be requested later, particularly when visible damage or tight storage conditions require clarification.

MOTORHOMES, TRAILERS AND CAMPERS

Types of RVs We Consider in Denver

RVBuyerUSA considers a broad range of recreational vehicles. Eligibility for purchase depends on the individual RV rather than its category alone.

Class A Motorhomes

Class A coaches may have considerable height, length and weight, along with diesel or gas drivetrains and integrated living systems. Useful details include mileage, engine operation, slide-out condition, overall dimensions and whether the RV can leave its parking location without encountering clearance or maneuvering restrictions.

Class B Motorhomes and Camper Vans

Camper vans may use factory-built or customized interiors. Describe the chassis, mileage, conversion equipment, battery systems, plumbing and any modifications affecting the vehicle. If equipment has been added or removed, explaining those changes helps identify the configuration being offered.

Class C Motorhomes

Class C models combine a motorhome chassis with an attached coach body. Both automotive operation and living-area condition matter. Report engine and transmission issues, mileage, leaks around the cab-over area, roof damage and whether the motorhome has been driven recently.

Travel Trailers

For a travel trailer, explain the approximate length, hitch arrangement, condition of the frame and running gear, and whether the trailer sits on usable tires. A damaged coupler, axle or brake system may require special consideration even if the interior is in good condition.

Fifth Wheels

Fifth wheels rely on an appropriate truck and fifth-wheel connection for ordinary towing. Tell us whether the landing gear operates, the kingpin is accessible, the tires are serviceable and there is enough space in front of the unit for a suitable tow vehicle.

Toy Haulers

Toy haulers may be motorized or towable and include a dedicated cargo area. Describe the loading ramp, garage floor, tie-down equipment, suspension, and any wear or damage in the cargo space, along with the usual RV living systems.

Truck Campers and Other RVs

Truck campers, specialty campers and other recreational vehicle configurations may also be submitted. A truck camper on a vehicle presents different handling questions from one supported on separate jacks. Explain how the unit is currently stored and whether it can be moved safely.

Submitting an RV for review does not guarantee an offer or purchase.

RV CONDITION AND MOBILITY

Can You Sell a Denver RV That Needs Repairs?

An RV with damage or mechanical problems can still be submitted to RVBuyerUSA for consideration. The evaluation depends on the extent of the issues, the vehicle ownership status and whether a potential transaction and transportation can be arranged.

It helps to describe the difference between an RV that drives, one that can move only under certain conditions and one that cannot move normally.

A Motorhome That Starts and Drives

Tell us when the vehicle was last driven and whether there are known mechanical warnings, leaks, tire problems or braking concerns. A running engine does not automatically establish that a motorhome is safe for highway use.

A Motorhome That Starts but May Not Be Roadworthy

Some motorhomes have functioning engines but uncertain brakes, old tires, damaged steering components or unresolved cooling problems. Explain the concern without attempting a road test that could be unsafe.

A Motorhome That Will Not Start

Share what is known about the failure and when the motorhome last operated. If possible, identify whether the wheels roll, steering is functional and the transmission can be placed in a suitable position. Do not attempt mechanical work or movement beyond what is safe.

A Trailer With Running-Gear Damage

Damaged axles, missing wheels, defective brakes, bent frames or unusable landing gear can affect the possibility of moving a trailer. Describe these issues before any transportation discussion. An ordinary tow vehicle may not be suitable for every disabled trailer.

Roof, Water or Exterior Damage

Water intrusion can affect roofing, walls, insulation and flooring. Exterior damage may involve cosmetic panels or more substantial structural components. Describe the visible condition and any known repairs. An RV should not be assumed to have suffered hail or freeze damage simply because it was stored in Colorado.

Extended Storage or Winterization

A vehicle stored through several winters may have systems that have not been operated recently. Tell us whether the RV was winterized, when it last moved, and whether the tires, batteries, brakes and plumbing have been inspected. Untested is an acceptable description when the condition is genuinely unknown.

Free towing is included only with an agreed purchase. It is not a standalone removal service. An offer or collection cannot be guaranteed for every damaged or non-running RV.

FIVE PRACTICAL STEPS

How a Potential Denver RV Purchase Works

A free inquiry, individual review, proposed offer and completed sale are different stages. Understanding those distinctions helps you decide whether a direct purchase is appropriate.

1. Share the Initial Details

Use the Denver form to provide your contact information, year, make, model and current RV ZIP code. You can also describe known damage, mechanical issues, storage restrictions or ownership questions.

2. RVBuyerUSA Reviews the Request

We consider the submitted information to determine whether a potential direct purchase is possible. Submitting a request does not automatically produce an offer, appraisal or approval for purchase.

3. Clarify What Matters

Additional details may be needed about condition, photographs, equipment, ownership records, a loan or access to the vehicle. Depending on the RV, further review or inspection may be discussed.

4. Consider Any Proposed Offer

If an offer is available, review the price, payment arrangements, ownership requirements and other proposed terms. You can accept or decline. There is no obligation to proceed.

5. Complete an Agreed Transaction

If both parties agree, the transaction must address the title, any lien, payment and release of the RV. Free towing is included with an agreed purchase, subject to arranging the actual collection of the vehicle.

If RVBuyerUSA is unable to make an offer, the inquiry does not require you to do anything further. You remain free to consider a private listing, consignment or another buyer.

No particular response time, payment method or pickup date is guaranteed by submitting the form. Learn more through Our Process.

DENVER RV PARKING AND ACCESS

Denver RV Parking Rules and What Sellers Should Know

An RV’s location can affect how a potential sale proceeds. The vehicle may be on a public street, at a residence, inside a commercial storage facility or at a repair business. For Denver owners, understanding the difference between public-street restrictions and private-property storage rules is particularly important.

Denver Public-Street Parking Restrictions

Denver Revised Municipal Code Sections 54-464 and 54-465 contain different parking restrictions for certain large vehicles, recreational vehicles, trailers and ordinary vehicles.

Under Section 54-464, qualifying large vehicles and certain trailer categories are subject to a two-hour restriction during a seven-day period. Other qualifying recreational vehicles, including RVs exceeding 22 feet in length, are addressed by a separate 24-hour restriction during a seven-day period. The rules include vehicle classifications, exceptions and relocation requirements that must be considered together. The applicable restriction is not determined by RV length alone.

Section 54-465 also addresses vehicles parked on public streets for more than 72 hours. Recreational vehicles that do not exceed 22 feet in length have a specific requirement to move at least 700 feet during the relevant 72-hour period. Posted restrictions and other applicable provisions may impose additional limitations.

These are Denver municipal rules. They do not automatically apply to an RV parked in Aurora, Lakewood or another neighboring municipality. Read Denver Ordinance 23-0373 and its legislative record, and consult the current Denver Revised Municipal Code when determining which provision applies to a particular vehicle.

If your RV is parked on a Denver street, mention the vehicle’s approximate length, type and current parking circumstances when submitting an inquiry. A purchase request does not extend a legal parking period, prevent enforcement or guarantee collection before a deadline.

RV Storage on Private Property

Denver’s public-street parking rules are not the same as its private-property zoning requirements. Denver Zoning Code Section 10.9.3.5 addresses inoperable motor vehicles in residential districts. Section 10.9.3.6 contains specific provisions for trailers, trucks and recreational vehicles on private property in designated residential zoning contexts.

Relevant requirements can include vehicle dimensions, placement, enclosure and the property’s zoning classification. A driveway, side yard or garage may therefore present different legal questions from a public street.

For a property-specific answer, consult the official Denver Zoning Code and Denver Community Planning and Development about the zoning rules applicable to the actual address. RVBuyerUSA does not determine whether a particular parking or storage arrangement complies with Denver zoning requirements.

Disabled Vehicles and Denver Vehicle-Junker Rules

Denver Municipal Code Section 54-466 addresses vehicles classified as vehicle junkers on the public right-of-way. The municipal definition considers vehicle operability, safety or registration circumstances together with extensive damage. A vehicle meeting the applicable definition is subject to a separate 24-hour restriction on the public right-of-way.

A motorhome that does not start is not automatically a vehicle junker. Its classification depends on the applicable legal criteria and actual condition. If an RV is disabled or extensively damaged, describe its condition accurately and check the relevant local rules. Do not attempt to drive or tow an unsafe vehicle merely to relocate it.

Access From Denver Homes and Residential Properties

An RV parked on private property may be easy to reach or difficult to move, depending on the layout. For example, a motorhome at a home in Berkeley may have different exit clearance from a trailer stored on a residential lot in Montbello. Neither example establishes a neighborhood-wide parking rule.

Useful details include driveway width, turning room, overhead clearance, ground condition and gates. For a fifth wheel, note the space available for a tow vehicle. For a motorhome, provide approximate height and length.

Commercial RV Storage and Gated Facilities

Commercial facilities may require reservations, gate access, identification, account authorization or settlement of outstanding storage charges before releasing a vehicle. Describe whether the RV is stored indoors, outdoors or under a cover, and whether the entrance limits turning room.

The storage operator’s release requirements must be addressed before collection. Accepting an offer does not automatically authorize access to someone else’s property.

RVs at Repair Shops

If your RV is at a repair facility, explain whether it can be released and whether repair or storage charges remain outstanding. The shop may have its own access schedule or authorization requirements.

A vehicle can be mechanically movable but unavailable for release until the owner and facility resolve those conditions.

Denver County Versus the Surrounding Metro Area

Denver is a consolidated city and county. Aurora, Arvada, Lakewood, Commerce City, Englewood and Littleton operate under separate municipal jurisdictions. An owner may live in Denver while keeping an RV in a different city or county.

Use the ZIP code where the RV is physically stored. When possible, identify the municipality too, especially near a jurisdictional boundary. Denver parking rules should not be assumed to govern an RV outside Denver.

Before Discussing a Possible Collection

If a purchase is agreed, useful collection details include whether the RV runs, rolls and steers; its approximate length, height and width; whether slides, awnings and stabilizers retract; and whether tires, brakes, axles and towing connections are usable.

Also explain whether a locked gate or limited entrance affects access, who can authorize release, and whether storage charges or property restrictions remain unresolved. You do not need to arrange towing merely to request an offer.

Free towing is included with an agreed RV purchase. Transportation arrangements depend on the individual vehicle and accessible pickup location.

COLORADO OWNERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Colorado RV Paperwork Before a Denver Sale

Selling an RV requires more than agreeing on a price. The ownership record, title, lien information and applicable transfer documents must be addressed before the vehicle changes hands.

Colorado Department of Revenue, Division of Motor Vehicles, provides guidance for private vehicle sales. A purchase involving an RV buying business may require different administrative arrangements, so the responsibilities for the actual transaction should be confirmed rather than assumed. For a more complete statewide explanation, visit Sell My RV in Colorado.

Confirm the Title and Named Owners

Check that the Certificate of Title identifies the correct vehicle and lists the appropriate owners. Colorado’s private-sale instructions explain how named owners endorse a title. When multiple owners appear, the applicable signatures and legal interests must be addressed. Do not sign incomplete paperwork or release the RV before the agreed documentation arrangements are clear. See Colorado DMV title information.

Missing Titles and Existing Loans

If you cannot locate the title, determine whether the ownership record is paper or electronic and whether a lienholder is involved. A replacement-title procedure may be available, but the correct steps depend on the record and circumstances. If the RV is financed, disclose the lender’s interest. An agreed sale must provide for applicable payoff, lien release and transfer arrangements.

Motorhomes and Towable RVs Have Different Disclosure Questions

Colorado DMV explains that odometer disclosure applies to qualifying motor vehicles, subject to specified model-year, age and weight exemptions. Non-self-propelled trailers are exempt from the odometer disclosure requirement described in the state’s guidance. A motorhome and a travel trailer should therefore not be assumed to require identical transfer disclosures. See the Colorado DMV private-sale instructions.

Branded Titles and Significant Damage

If the RV has a salvage, rebuilt or other branded ownership record, disclose that before a purchase discussion advances. Colorado’s private-sale guidance addresses branded-title disclosures and distinguishes certain junk-designated vehicles from vehicles eligible for a regular Colorado title. The exact record matters. Do not describe an RV as having a clean title unless that can be confirmed.

License Plates, Seller Reporting and Emissions

Colorado’s private-sale guidance instructs sellers to retain their license plates and explains release-of-liability reporting. It also describes circumstances in which a passing emissions certificate may be required, depending on the vehicle, exemptions and buyer’s location. Those procedures must be evaluated for the actual transaction, especially when the buyer is a business rather than another private individual. Check the current Colorado DMV buying and selling guidance before signing and transferring the vehicle.

Denver County Motor Vehicle Services

Denver residents can use the appropriate City and County of Denver motor vehicle services for county-administered title and registration questions. If you live elsewhere in the metropolitan area, the appropriate county office may be different. The RV’s storage location alone does not determine which office handles an owner’s paperwork.

Before an agreed sale is completed, clarify who handles the title, any lien, payment, required disclosures and release of the RV. For broader Colorado information, visit our Colorado RV selling page.

COMPARE YOUR OPTIONS

Choosing How to Sell an RV in Denver

Different selling methods involve different responsibilities, costs and possible outcomes. Consider the RV’s condition, how much time you can devote to selling and whether the vehicle can be shown or moved.

Private RV Listing

A private listing lets you set an asking price and communicate directly with prospective buyers. You handle advertising, questions, appointments, negotiations and transaction arrangements. This can be useful when you have a presentable RV and are comfortable managing the process.

An RV with restricted access or mechanical problems may require additional preparation before buyer viewings.

RV Consignment

A consignment business may help advertise and sell the RV under a written agreement. Ask about the commission, storage costs, agreement duration, insurance, pricing authority and responsibilities if the vehicle does not sell.

Some arrangements require transporting the RV to the business, which can be difficult for a non-running vehicle.

Dealer Trade-In

A dealership may consider your existing RV as part of the purchase of another one. Compare the total replacement transaction, including the new RV’s price, financing and other costs, rather than evaluating the trade-in allowance alone.

A trade-in and a standalone purchase offer are different financial arrangements.

Direct Purchase Inquiry

RVBuyerUSA considers your RV’s details for a possible direct purchase without requiring a public retail listing before you inquire. If an offer is made, compare the actual price and terms with the other selling methods available to you.

You can decline any offer. Free towing is included if an RV purchase is agreed.

DENVER AREA RV INQUIRIES

RV Owners Across Denver and Nearby Communities

RVBuyerUSA considers inquiries from owners throughout the country, including the City and County of Denver and surrounding Colorado communities. There is no requirement that an RV be stored at the same address where its owner lives. However, the actual vehicle location and access circumstances need to be described accurately.

Within Denver City Limits

Denver neighborhoods include Berkeley, Sunnyside, Highland, Sloan Lake, Five Points, Capitol Hill, Washington Park, Lowry, Central Park, Montbello and Hampden. Some owners keep their RVs at home, while others use off-site storage or repair facilities.

A neighborhood name alone cannot establish whether a vehicle is accessible or legally parked. The specific property and parking arrangement are what matter.

Nearby Metropolitan Communities

Owners may also submit RVs located in Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Commerce City, Englewood, Littleton, Centennial, Westminster and Golden. These are distinct municipalities. Their applicable parking and land-use rules should be checked separately from Denver’s rules.

RVBuyerUSA does not claim a staffed location or dedicated purchase facility in each community simply because inquiries from those areas are welcome.

If Your RV Is Stored Outside Your Home County

An owner who lives in Denver might keep a fifth wheel in Jefferson County or a motorhome at a facility elsewhere in the metropolitan area. Provide the physical storage ZIP code and identify any access arrangements with the property owner or operator.

For statewide information, visit Sell My RV in Colorado. You can also explore RVBuyerUSA nationwide RV buying locations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions About Selling an RV in Denver

Yes. RVBuyerUSA considers purchase inquiries from Denver RV owners and throughout the United States. Private owners are the primary customers, and dealership inquiries are welcome. Each vehicle is considered individually.

No. RV offer requests are free. You do not have to accept any offer that may be made, and submitting the form does not create a purchase agreement.

A non-running motorhome can be submitted for review. Describe what is known about the engine, steering, brakes, tires and ability to move the vehicle. RVBuyerUSA considers damaged and non-running RVs individually, but purchase approval is not guaranteed.

Yes, you can describe that condition in a purchase inquiry. Explain where the damage appears, whether it has been repaired and which systems are affected. The actual damage and overall vehicle condition determine whether a purchase may be possible.

The answer depends on the vehicle classification and applicable restrictions. Denver has separate rules for certain larger RVs, trailers and other vehicles. The 72-hour provision also contains a specific 700-foot relocation requirement for RVs not exceeding 22 feet. Check the current ordinance and posted parking restrictions rather than assuming one time limit applies to every RV.

Public-street parking regulations and private-property zoning rules are different. Denver zoning provisions may restrict RV placement or storage in particular residential districts. The correct answer depends on the property and vehicle. Consult Denver Community Planning and Development for an address-specific determination.

You can still request a review. RVBuyerUSA considers inquiries nationwide. Provide the current storage ZIP code and any access restrictions. Denver municipal rules should not automatically be applied to a vehicle in another city.

Tell us whether the facility requires an appointment, gate authorization, identification or payment of outstanding storage charges. Those conditions must be resolved before an agreed vehicle release. An inquiry does not guarantee pickup.

You can describe the ownership situation in your initial inquiry. An outstanding lien or unavailable title may require additional documentation and may affect whether a transaction can proceed. Any purchase must address the legal ownership interests and appropriate transfer requirements.

Free towing is included with an agreed RV purchase. Towing is not automatically available to everyone who submits a form. The vehicle’s condition, accessibility and agreed transaction details must be addressed.

There is no obligation to sell or continue with a transaction. You can consider a private listing, RV consignment, a dealership or another buyer. Submitting the inquiry does not prevent you from exploring other selling options.
